About TaxWise Assistant

Built by a semi‑retired CPA to make federal tax planning simple, accurate, and accessible for everyone.

Our Mission

TaxWise Assistant exists to help everyday taxpayers understand their federal taxes without confusion, stress, or expensive software. The goal is simple: provide fast, accurate estimates using official IRS rules — no upsells, no hidden fees, no complexity.

Who Built This?

My name is James, and I’m a semi‑retired CPA with decades of experience helping individuals and families navigate the U.S. tax system. Over the years, I realized most people don’t need a full tax appointment — they just need clarity. They want to know:

  • How much they’ll owe or get back
  • Which filing status saves the most
  • How income changes affect their taxes
  • How credits like CTC or EITC apply to them

TaxWise Assistant was built to answer those questions instantly.

What TaxWise Assistant Does

The platform uses official IRS formulas for the 2025 tax year — including brackets, standard deduction, credits, phaseouts, and more — to give you fast, accurate estimates. You can:

  • Estimate your federal taxes
  • Compare filing statuses (MFJ vs. MFS)
  • Model different income scenarios
  • Explore tax guides written in plain English

Why I Built It

After years of helping clients, I wanted to create a tool that empowers people to understand their taxes without needing a CPA appointment. TaxWise Assistant is designed to be:

  • Simple enough for beginners
  • Accurate enough for professionals
  • Fast enough for real‑time planning
  • Free for everyone
